Leadership, Teamwork, Scholarship and Excellence
Lamar Elliott, President
lamar.elliott@caakids.org
Lamar Elliott born and reared in the tidewater area of VA.  Currently an active board
member with the Chesapeake Athletic Association serving as the President since 2006.
Also, a co-founder of CAA since it's inception in 2005.  He was also instrumental in the
birth of the new Chesapeake Drug Court.  Not resting on his laurels he continued until the
idea sprung from a need for the youth to have positive recreation, leadership and positive
role models.  Thus the Chesapeake Athletic Association was formed and has been going
strong ever since.  He served on the Chesapeake Parks and Recreation Advisory Board
for eight years.  He was the President of the Ahoy Acres Civic League for five years.
During such time he was able to establish a bus line for the community where none had
existed before and created voting precinct 48 for the city of Chesapeake.  He has been a
Deputy Sheriff for the past eleven (11) years where he has witnessed many youth walk
down the wrong path.  This fueled his desire to put the youth on the right track before
becoming a statistic.  He is the father of a daughter Imani who has been a cheerleader
with CAA since the beginning.  He currently resides in Chesapeake, VA.
Leo McCray, Treasurer
leomccray@caakids.org

Geral Stukes, Vice President
geral.stukes@caakids.org
Geral Stukes, born and reared in Chesapeake,Virginia.  Wife of Alex Stukes Sr. and the
mother of five, Catrice, Alex Jr., Jeremy, Alexandria, and Aaron, has volunteered her time
working with the youth in our community for a number of years.  Geral Stukes served with
the Deep Creek Football and Cheering Association for ten years, six of those years as
president , which enabled her to bring a wealth of experience and knowledge to CAA in
2005 when she was contacted by Lamar Elliott about forming the CAA in order to bring
Pop Warner, one of the Nation's most elite athletic programs, to Chesapeake.  Geral
Stukes has a genuine passion for the youth and youth programs of our community;  she
works diligently to keep our youth safe, and to help our children excel in the field of
athletics as well as academics. Her reward comes when she encounters one of the youth
she has worked with, all grown up, and they recognize and/or remember her for the work
she did and how it had a positive impact on their life.  Then she realizes all of her
dedication, hard work and long hours are appreciated.
Sandie White, Cheer Coordinator
sandie.white@caakids.org
I was born in Norfolk, VA.  I currently reside in Chesapeake with my three (3 )daughters
Amber, Brittani, & Ciarra.  My care and compassion from working in the Cancer Operating
Center of a well known hospital since before 1997 has overflowed not only into the lives of
those that I care for in my profession, but also into the lives of many children involved in
extra curricular activities.  I have spent many years actively participating in the City of
Chesapeake Parks & Recreation Cheering program with my own children both in Deep
Creek and in Indian River.  I am currently the Cheering Coordinator for the Chesapeake
Athletic Association and have been for the past 2 years.  I realize that children can be
successful with positive support.  I have always believed that children need to be kept
active and busy which decreases the likelihood for getting into trouble.  My motto is God
1st, family 2nd, and career 3rd.
